Georgia's Historic Heartland

Information

Athens - Redneck GReece

The songs that Redneck GReece writes and sings are keeping alive the old spirit and soul of country music. Hearkening back to Merle, George Jones, Johnny Cash, Hank, and even old Jimmie Rodgers, Redneck GReece sings about drink and lust and disappointment and hard times and infidelity: the very themes that used to be at the heart of country music. Of course, Redneck reevaluates these time tested themes with a decidedly modern twist.

Redneck now has two CD recordings under his belt, the 1992 Good Eatin' and the 1994 Cold Hard Facts. And when I say 'under his belt' all you gotta do is listen to the tunes like "Puddin' Tane" and "Dyin' Quivers" on the first recording or "Mama was a Dancer at the Clermont Lounge" and "Don't Let Another Penis Come Between Us" on their second and you'll get the idea.
